Arbor Day planting 2008

Trees for Travellers aimed to plant 500 native New Zealand trees on Arbor Day, supported by Kaikoura District Council.  This was to raise environmental awareness and plant native trees towards reducing the impact of Climate Change. We were going to plant trees till 4:30pm on the day, however we actually planted 670 trees by lunch time.  Over 40 volunteers showed up and everybody enjoyed planting trees and great view.  We shall aim to plant 1000 trees next year!!

Trees for Travellers held a colouring and a poster design competition for the event.  Thank you to all the children who participated!!  You all did fantastic job.
